But, if you are constantly committing to doing things for others at the expense of the things you are passionate about, then your life becomes out of balance. I interviewed Byron Allen, Founder and CEO of Allen Media Group and Entertainment Studios. Allen owns one of the largest cable network portfolios in the industry. He recently purchased The Weather Channel for $300 Million dollars. I talked to the media mogul about his career, racism in the banking industry, his $20 Billion dollar racial discrimination lawsuit, his advice to aspiring entrepreneurs and whether he’s thinking about running for political office.

I just love coming back home to Detroit and hanging with friends that I grew up with. My girl Alison Vaughn and I met as teens in Fellowship Chapel church on Detroit’s northwest side of town. Blessed to have a loving and supportive circle of friends. 💖

Sometimes it is challenging to look around today and find some inspiration to be hopeful about the future. But, yet, we persevere. We get up every day, we keep praying and we keep bringing our excellence because that is what God created us to do...to use our gifts to make this world a better place for all.
