Ted Turner was an icon in my industry. I met him in 2014 when I was asked by the United Nations Foundation to interview him for the Film Independent Humanitarian Award, for which he was being honored. Many people know Turner started CNN (in 1980) but, you may not know his connection to philanthropy. Turner made a $1 Billion dollar gift to the #UnitedNations that was used to establish the UN Foundation because he believed the UN was crucial for addressing the world’s problems. This interview was at the home of Philanthropist Ron Burkle. You can see from this picture that Ted was in a good mood - happy to receive his award. Thank you to photographer Frazer Harrison for your picture. #RIP #TedTurner 🙏🏾
I had an incredible time at the Hollywood premiere of MICHAEL! 🕺🏾
I had an amazing time at Leading Women Defined! Thank you Debra Lee for curating such a beautiful, safe space for dynamic women to gather, commune and truly see one another. There is something powerful about being in a room filled with brilliance, purpose and authenticity - where collaboration is celebrated over competition, and every story, every voice, every journey is honored. Grateful for the sisterhood, the conversations and the reminder that when women come together with intention, there is no limit to what we can build, uplift, and transform.
HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY! 🌺 Carolyn and I started this #Easter at Faithful Central Bible Church ⛪️ It was amazing! Pastor JP Foster delivered an incredible sermon and all praises to the music ministry! 🎵 🎶 I hope you had a blessed day! #heisrisenindeed✝️

Oscar Throwback. The night I took my daddy to the Academy Awards. I love seeing stars bring their parents as their date to award shows. The Academy asked me to host their Official Pre-Show (I’ve hosted it 4 times) and this particular year, I flew Dad out from Detroit to be my date. He had the best time meeting the stars and posing next to the Oscar statues on the red carpet. Love you, Dad and miss you so much. ❤️ #oscars

It was a fun night out with my friend Tracey Edmonds at a celebratory dinner for BET’s new President Louis Carr.
The rain can never dampen #BlackExcellence. So many amazing people braved the stormy weather and came out for the American Black Film Festival Honors. Congratulations to all the honorees! 🌟
