I am a journalist. Before coming to Hollywood, I spent years in “local news” learning the art and craft of journalism - reporting on stories that can truly make a positive difference in people’s lives. So, it was an honor for me, last night, to be among other journalists at the Gracie Awards, All Women in Media and to present honors to two true and amazing journalists - Nightline’s Juju Chang and CNN’s Ingrid Formanek. I presented on behalf of @ford @fordfund which has been an incredible supporter of my foundation, the @shaunfoundationforgirls and our #HumanTrafficking initiatives.
Had the best time hosting TLC’s Royal Wedding Special with wedding experts Monte Durham, Lori Allen, George Kotsiopoulos, Hayley Paige and Randy Fenoli about the highlights of Meghan and Harry’s bid day!

I had such a wonderful time speaking to the young ladies at St. Pope John Paul II’s Catholic Academy in Boston. We discussed avoiding peer pressure, dealing with stress and bullies and what is and is not respectful talk from boys.
Thank you SAG-AFTRA for inviting me to moderate this important discussion on #HumanTrafficking. Kudos to my friend Garcelle Beauvais on her new film #LalosHouse based on the true story of a nun who was trafficking girls in Haiti.

“Auntie Maxine” - as so many of us affectionately refer to Rep. Maxine Waters. She was one of the honorees at the LA Chapter of Spelman College’s Sisters Awards. I am humbled to share a stage with her. 💙
It was such a beautiful afternoon! Receiving the Sister Award from my alma mater, Spelman College was so amazing! The love in the room was so strong - a sea of women in blue, wearing our school colors. I’m so happy and honored and feel so blessed that I got to attend a school with such a tremendous sisterhood. 💙
